‘Aisyiyah Cilacap Encouraged Women to Take VIA Test

On February 6, 2017 ‘Aisyiyah Cilacap invited five members of Balai Sakinah ‘Aisyiyah in Maos Lor, Cilacap, Central Java to do Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA) test. Wachidah Sunarti, MAMPU-‘Aisyiyah Maos Laor coordinator said that Maos Laor is one of MAMPU’s assisted areas in Central Java and VIA  program has been implemented in some areas in Cilacap.
The free IVA test was conducted at the Public Health Center (Puskesmas) Maos Laor. The VIA test was fully funded by the ‘Aisyiyah Maos.
“Today, we screened 5 BSA members. Thanks God the screening results are all negative,” said Wachidah.
However, Wachidah admitted that not all members of BSA Maos were willing to do VIA test.
“We’ll never give up. Reproductive health issue was one of main issues faced by women. Therefore, we will continue to share the information to women who have not done the test yet,” she said.
Wachidah said that ‘Aisyiyah Cilacap hopes that there will be more women who are aware of the importance of reproductive health. It is also expected women in Cilacap will do VIA test regularly as a part of the program to take care of their reproductive health.
