With the spirit of “Leave No One Behind”, the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals/SDGs also encourages women leadership and participation. Such spirit was realized in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara, with the Launching of the Women Leadership Movement to Achieve Gender Responsive, Inclusive, and Transformative SDGs carried out by the Minister of Women Empowerment and Child Protection Yohana Susana Yembise, on Wednesday, July 25, 2018.
The spirit of women leadership was shown during the reading and signing of the Multiparty Declaration, which was attended by regional government representatives, the West Nusa Tenggara Regional Development Planning Agency, scholars, mass media, and civil society organisations. Grassroots women also had the opportunity to directly convey their questions and voice the importance of improving access and eliminating child marriage to Minister Yembise through the open dialog held, which ranged from social protection access to child marriage.
The MAMPU program also supports women leadership in the West Nusa Tenggara Province along with its partners: Institut KAPAL Perempuan, Indonesian Women’s Coalition (KPI), Pemberdayaan Perempuan Kepala Keluarga (PEKKA) Foundation, ‘Aisyiyah, Migrant CARE, and Bursa Pengetahuan Kawasan Timur Indonesia (BaKTI) Foundation, as well as some sub-partners, including LPSDM.
