KOMNAS Perempuan Holds National Consultation on Handling Cases of Violence against Women

On August 9-10, 2018, Komnas Perempuan (National Commission on Violence Against Women) held a National Consultation on the Implementation of the Integrated Criminal Justice System in Handling Cases of Violence Against Women (SPPT-PKKTP) in Jakarta. Several institutions were present such as Bappeda, Regional Health Office, Regional General Hospital, Children and Women Empowerment Regional Office, Regional Police, State Court, and NGOs. They came from Kepulauan Riau, Central Kalimantan, Jakarta SCR, Central Java, and Maluku.

This meeting provided an outlook on the situation, challenges, and learnings in providing services and cost of medical report for victims of violence, the link between medical services for victims of violence and the National Health Insurance/Healthcare and Social Security Agency (JKN/BPJS), and needs relating to the handling of victims of violence by Law Enforcement Staff.
