FPL: Public Hearings and Advocacy for Elimination of Sexual Violence Bill Draft to DPR RI

On 13 October 2016, Forum Pengada Layanan (FPL) conducted hearing related to advocacy on Sexual Violence Elimination Bill Draft (RUU PKS) to the House of Representatives. The hearing was conducted into three fractions, such as PDI-Perjuangan (PDIP), Gerindra and PAN, and also to the House of Representatives – Commission 3.

In Gerindra Fraction, FPL accepted by the deputy secretary of the fraction, Rahayu Saraswati Djoyohadikusumo, which also member of the SDGs Working Committee. As for the PDI-P fraction, FPL accepted by Dyah Pitaloka and Jalaluddin Rahmat, who is member of the Commission 8. While the PAN fraction accepted by Ammy Amalia. During the meeting, Samsidar, representatives of FPL, introduced and described about FPL and its activities, and asked support from the fraction for the RUU PKS advocacy process in the House of Representatives.

While doing hearing with the Commission 3 – House of Representatives, FPL accepted by the deputy chairman, Desmond Junaidi Mahesa (Gerindra Fraction), Masinton Pasaribu (PDIP fraction), T. Taufiqulhadi (Nasdem Fraction), and Wenny Warouw (Gerindra Fraction). Desmond Junaidi suggested that FPL needs to meet with the Committee of Criminal Code Bill draft  (RUU KUHP) so that it will not contradict one another.
