LBH APIK Aceh: Achievement Report to Australian Embassy Representative

On 27 July 2016, Representative of the Australian Embassy to Indonesia and MAMPU team visited LBH APIK Aceh in Bireun. This activity was part of visitiation to MAMPU partners in Aceh.
This event was attended by three representatives from LBH APIK Aceh and 5 representatives from Bener Meriah Region. They are paralegal (advocate), community paralegal and also survivors.
During the meeting, LBH APIK Aceh reported their program achievement which is supported by MAMPU, such as:
- The ability to handle violence cases that occurred. The number of cases they handled are: 48 cases during July – December 2014 period, 128 cases from January to December 2015, and 75 cases from January to June 2016.
- The formation of skilled co-victims of violence.
- Increasing cooperative relationships with law enforcement officials (APH).
- The formation of support groups in the assisted villages as a forum for discussion and information sharing.
- Implementation of the annual campaign activity called “16 International Day Against Violence Against Women (HAKtP)” with funding support from MAMPU.
LBH APIK Aceh is one of the MAMPU program partners which works on reducing violence against women issue. For this purpose, MAMPU collaborates with the National Commission for Women (Komnas Perempuan) and 32 other partners in the Komnas Perempuan network in various regions in Indonesia.
