On 19 -21 June, the MAMPU Program held a social enterprise training session in Jakarta as a part of its strategy to build the organisational sustainability of program partners.

The first two days of the training were hosted in cooperation with Instellar and the participants were divided into two streams in accordance with their needs. Partners who are currently exploring ideas and concepts for developing social enterprises participated in the Social Lean Canvas (SLC) stream which focused on creating social business models. Meanwhile, Partners who are already engaged in business activities producing incomes joined in the business planning training, and shared their experiences with social business actors who had worked with Instellar.

On the last day MAMPU Partners received training from Kopernik on 4P Marketing Mix regarding how to successfully market their business’ goods and services. This concept covered four elements: product, price, location, and promotion. Partners were asked to discuss and explain the unique strengths of the products they market by referring to these four elements. Through these presentations the partners were able to demonstrate their
understanding of the importance of the role of the market in determining the quality of the products they produce.

“There are many initiatives that until now haven’t been managed professionally, despite the high demand for them,” said Susan from BaKTI, MAMPU Partner for reducing violence against women.
