Pungkol Village in North Sulawesi Produces its First Village Regulation to Protect Women and Children Victims of Violence

On 9 October 2019, Pungkol Village in Tatapaan District, South Minahasa Regency passed a Village Regulation regarding Protecting Women and Children Victims of Violence. The Service Providers Forum (FPL) — MAMPU Partner for reducing violence against women — has worked with Suara Parangpuan North Sulawesi to advocate for the creation of this regulation since 2017.

In attendance at the regulation launching were a number of guests including Tumpaan District Police Chief Inspector First Class Duwi Galih, Sub-district Military Commander Second Sub-Lieutenant Ale Wowiling, representatives of the Pungkol Village Government, the Tatapaan District Government, Regional Development Bank, local community leaders, civil society organisations including Swara Parangpuan North Sumatra and religious leaders.
