MAMPU together with The Melbourne University School of Governance conducted a 4-day training on evidence-based policy advocacy from 6-9 October 2015 in Yogyakarta. The participants were 24 of MAMPU’s national and sub-national partner representatives. The participants have gone through a selection process that attracted more than 50 participants.

The workshop discussed what evidence could mean, how to use research and data as evidence, as well as how to communicate evidence in conducting policy advocacy. The workshop used a case study of a fictional village in Papua New Guinea throughout the four days, which helped participants to check their assumptions and gather information from the available data.

Participants gave positive feedback. They recommend MAMPU to have this training on a regular basis.
