‘Aisyiyah Regional Leader and Tegal Health Agency Held a Socialisation and Early Detection of Cervical and Breast Cancer

(21/2) ‘Aisyiyah Regional Leader in Tegal carried out a health promotion event consisted of socialisation of prevention, followed with cervical and breast cancer screening test, collaborating with Tegal Health Agency (Dinkes). The event took place in Klinik Pratama ‘Aisyiyah, namely “Siti Hajar” which attended by 52 participants of socialisation, and 42 patients which underwent the the Visual Inspection of Acetate Acid (VIA) and Clinical Breast Examination (CBE). Alongside the VIA and CBE that are free of charge, all of the participants were given opportunity to measure their Body Mass Index (BMI), as well as nutrition consultation.

Conveyed by the Team Coordinator, Leili Fitriyah MAMPU ‘Aisyiyah Tegal, these activities could be done as’ Aisyiyah got the invitation coordinate of Tegal Health Agency. “In the framework of the World Cancer Day, the Health Agency initiated to hold this activity and called ‘Aisyiyah to work in collaboration with them,” she said. “Alhamdulillah, all the costs are covered by the Health Agency, while ‘Aisyiyah handling the participants and the venue arrangements.”

Abreast of the socialition and reproductive health examinations, an MOU signing between Tegal Health Agency and ‘Aisyiyah was also carried out in this event. The MOU itself concerned about Cervical as well as Breast Cancer prevention related actions in Tegal. According to Leili, this MOU is a symbol of commitment between the organization and the agency. “This MOU is a concrete manifestation as the Kabid(head of division) has conveyed previously when we were working on the early coordination for this partnership, we hope that this collaboration will be sustained,” said Leili.

The same expectations were also stated by the Regional Leader of ‘Aisyiyah Tegal, Hj. Dewi Umaroh in the opening speech, in which she hopes that ‘Aisyiyah and Health Agency’s partnership may expand, not limited to non-communicable diseases prevention only, but they can cooperate to work on the Family Planning, Breastfeeding, and Tuberculosis program in the future as well. Leili added that the objectives between ‘Aisyiyah and the Health Agency are already congenial, so they hope there will be more health promotion activities that can be jointly conducted by ‘Aisyiyah and Tegal Health Agency. “What is important is that Dinkes will always be able to support ‘Aisyiyah’s programs concretely, since our programs are consentient with the government’s ones,” she concluded.Written by Suri Putri (‘Aisyiyah)
