MAMPU – Migrant CARE Partners Forum in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara

On 30 September to 1 October 2016, Migrant CARE supported by MAMPU, held a Partners Forum about “Optimising the Role and Responsibilities of the Joint Governance Strengthening Program for the Expansion and Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers and Their Families Members. The forum was attended by six regional working partners of Migrant CARE, such as: SARI, Tanoker, YKS, PPK Mataram, MC Banyuwangi and MC Kebumen.

Activities that was carried out in Batu Layar, West Nusa Tenggara, discussed about evaluation and achievements made by Migrant CARE and its partners over the past year.

The forum also discussed about strategy implementation program for policy advocacy at the national level (revision of Law No. 39 year 2004 about PPILN) and policy advocacy at the local level (local regulations and village regulations), as well as the strengthening and expansion of DESBUMI programs to give closer access to Indonesian migrant women workers and their family members to the integrative protection services and gender responsive.

In addition, the forum also discussed about progress report of program finance, book discussion, planning priorities and synergies of MAMPU – Migrant CARE program activities in 2017.
