On 22 August 2016, Society for Development Initiatives and Advocacy (PIAR) NTT, one of the Women’s Health Foundation (YKP) partners, held socialisation on national health insurance (JKN) study results in relation to the needs of health care, sexual and reproductive health for women. The activity was held in the Greenia Hotel Hall in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara.

NTT PIAR Coordinator, Sarah Lery Mboeik, conveyed the results of the survey. It was found that the information about the national health insurance not evenly spread that can be seen from the number of people who do not understand the benefits and access from the program, especially people in remote villages in East Nusa Tenggara. To that end, Piar suggested the need for more socialisation to the community.

On this occasion, two members of the Kupang City Council, Theodora Ewalde and Daniel Hureg, gave feedback about the results of the survey to BPJS NTT and Kupang City Health Department. Daniel Hurek provided inputs to BPJS. BPJS Kupang can proposed a socialisation budget to Kupang government, and the City Council will help BPJS in the process.
