SARI Facilitated BMI Groups’ Regular Meeting in Wonosobo, Central Java

On 14 to 16 September 2016, SARI, one of the Migrant CARE’s partners, facilitated regular meetings for Indonesian Migrant Workers (BMI) groups in Wonosobo, Central Java, as the part of mentoring activities.

The regular meetings were held in various groups, such as in BMI Muiwo group in Lipursari Village, Leksono sub-district; Bumi Sejati group in Rogojati village, Sukoharjo which practiced the making of Inoku tempe (soybean cake);  Migran Bijak Mergosari (MBM) Group in Mergosari Village, Sukoharjo which held a training on making bag; BKM group in Kuripan Village, Watumalang which discussed about activity plan by the new board; and Sindu Bumi group, in Sindu Paten village, Kertek.

In the regular meetings, the BMI groups are having discussion on various issues or conducted practical skills’ training for group members. They also discussed about the input, suggestions, and delivered their groups’ progress. The aim of the meeting is to make the members and village officials become more open and increase understanding on safe migration.
