Women in Ketapang Jaya Village, East Lombok: Dare to Speak

There is only few women who dare enough to voice their needs and interests in a public forum. Fears and worries become the biggest reason for them not to do so.

However, there is a small change among the School of Women (Sekolah Perempuan) members in the Ketapang Jaya village, East Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara.

At the beginning, they were not confident to come to the village office for making ID card, not to mention speak in a public forum.

However, after getting a series of training from the School of Women, gradually they became confident enough to attend and express their aspirations in the multi-stakeholder consultation forum for development planning in village level.
