In March 2016, the women society and organization held a women development planning meeting for women (musrenbang perempuan) in East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. This activity was held by the women organization in cooperation with Women’s Empowerment and Family Planning (BPPKB). The event that has been running for two years, was initiated by Lembaga Pengembangan Sumber Daya Mitra (LPSDM) – KAPAL Perempuan’s partner to BPPKB.

From the results of forums with Education, Youth and Sports Affairs through PLS and BPPKB, East Lombok intend to replicate the School for Women. This initiative will be budgeted in the Regional Development Work Plan and also General Policy of Local Government Budget and Provisional Budget Ceiling Priority in 2017. If possible, this program will be included in the 2016 revised budget.

Hopefully, in 2017 there were:

  1. 20 villages as piloting for gender responsive budgeting planning and pro-poor;
  2. Preparation of the PTO involvement of women, especially for marginal communities in the planning up to monitoring and evaluation of development with a quota of 30 per cent;
  3. Political education and leadership of women in 20 districts;
  4. Education skills for disability groups in 20 districts.

Cooperation will be carried out by various NGOs, such as LPSDM, Samiya Partners, BaKTI, Casual, Pekka, Samanta, Gema Alam and other organizations. In this case, BaKTI role is to advocate and secure the budget in Parliament.
