SARI: Organisational Training for Indonesian Migrant Workers Cadres in Wonosobo, Central Java

SARI, one of Migrant CARE partners which supported by MAMPU Program, held an Organisational Training for the Indonesian Migrant Workers (BMI) Cadres in the Wonosobo Regency, Central Java on 20 – 21 July 2016.

SARI considers the importance of this training, which is to provide training for the existed BMI organisations, and bring women cadres to be stronger and more solid in networking and doing policy advocacy in favor with BMI.

This training expected to provide an understanding of the former BMI about organisation in order to optimize and improve the welfare of BMI life, and build a resilient and strong cadres in organising groups, advocacy and networking in their organisation and village.

Participants of the training were representatives of organisations which accompanied by SARI, such as: Muiwo Group from Lipursari Village – Leksono, MBM Mergosari Village – Sukoharjo, BKM Kuripan Village – Watumalang, PAESbumi (Society of Former Migrant Workers) Kertek, Bumi Sejati Rogojati Village – Sukoharjo, Bumi Sindupaten – Kertek, Kukuh Bumi , Adi Kusuma Capar – Kertek, Tanoshi, and BMW (Independent Migrant Workers Wonosobo).

The training was held at Cemara Tujuh Homestay in Garung – Wonosobo and facilitated by Margaretha T Andoea from ​​LAW Jakarta. The training activities was officially opened by Nuryana, the Head of Manpower and Transmigration Office – Wonosobo and also attended by Garung Sub-district Head, Santosa.
